She stands surrounded by the bloom of life—wildflowers bursting at her feet, their colors vibrant against the muted tones of the world behind her. Her posture is quiet, reflective, as if caught in the moment between exhale and renewal. The light that surrounds her isn’t external; it radiates from within—a golden halo tracing her form, cutting through the darkness. It’s her strength, her story, her resilience burning quietly yet fiercely. This piece captures the beauty and the weight of enduring. She stands rooted in the earth, as though the flowers grow from her very being, their fragile petals blooming from her struggles. Yet, her gaze lowers, shoulders drawn inward, showing that resilience is not always loud. Sometimes it’s found in the quiet moments, in the stillness where a soul gathers itself to keep going. As I worked on this piece, it reminded me of so many women I’ve met through life and work—women who carry the unspoken weight of pain, illness, and the countless pressures of simply existing. Yet, even in the hardest seasons, they keep growing, keep standing tall against the odds. This is my way of honoring them—my mother, my wife, my daughter, my friends—each one a light in a world that often doesn’t see their quiet brilliance. Beneath the Light is about the strength it takes to stand firm when everything around you feels uncertain. It’s a tribute to the beauty of enduring, growing, and finding light in the struggle.
