"At the Door: Mystery, Identity, Boundary" is a photo and text project based on approximately 100 photographs shot in northern Italy in May, 2026. The work treats doorbells as public-facing markers of private lives: small
signifiers of identity, access, refusal, recognition, and surveillance. Brass plates, handwritten slips, surveillance lenses, worn buttons, and miniature nameplates signify identity, access, refusal, and recognition. The work is a meditation on what a threshold reveals, what it withholds, what it guards, and how little of a life becomes public.
