The world has become a more intimate place with social media. I continue to be inspired by the artistic styles emerging internationally. The direction of my work has charged over time, and continues to evolve. I try not to tie myself to a singular theme.
My fascination with photography began in the 1960's. I loved looking at the photographs in Life, Ebony and Sports Illustrated magazines. The works of Gordon Parks, Walter Looss and others, were and still are paramount to photographic history. Then, there is my mom who I consider to be the best point and shoot photographer. I have spent untold hours combing through our family albums creating memories for a lifetime.
During my freshman year in high school, my english teacher and yearbook editor, asked if I wanted to be a staff photographer. There I learned lighting and exposure, composition and darkroom technique. I took some art courses in college and developed an infinite love for Jazz, the Renaissance and Art Deco. Yet, my real art education happened with everyday living and observation. I remain excited to see where this journey leads.
Yours In Art.
