Paul Newman is a Mohawk artist from the Haudenosaunee Nation of Six Nations in Southern Ontario, now living and creating in Nova Scotia. In his culture, storytellers were the keepers of history — sharing legends and teachings through spoken word. He continues that tradition through his artwork. Each piece begins with one of his photographs and as he uses advanced technical brush techniques it evolves into an impressionist-style story told through color, light, and movement. Newman’s goal is not simply to create beautiful images, but to share what he felt and experienced in that moment — inviting others to see the world as he does, alive with stories waiting to be told.
