George Ninos was born in Athens and has called Canada home for more than fifty years.
He picked up a camera four decades ago, in the days of film and darkrooms — developing his own long before digital made photography effortless. He shot with Contax, Canon, Sony, and Nikon — each camera marking a chapter of his life.
Like many who have lived fully, George lost much of his early work along the way. What remained was the eye. Now, on Vancouver Island, he has returned to photography with a quieter purpose.
His images move between the two worlds he calls home — the rugged Pacific coast and the ancient light of the Greek Mediterranean. From the Milky Way above Port Alberni to his father, still smoking at 85 in a Corfu village, each photograph is an act of attention. A way of saying: this moment deserved to be seen, and this story told.
George shoots with a Nikon Z7ii and prints exclusively through professional fine art labs.
Every print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
