A lifelong photographer off and on, work and life always seems to interfere. Now that I am retired, I have time to work on my collection of photographs from the past 40 years or so. I like to photograph many different venues, diving being one of my favorites although age prevents me from that now. For many years my job in the middle east provided me with the resources to do a fair bit of travel, but never enough. My wife and I now live near San Diego, California and we have a lot of wildlife near our home. We are close to the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park, southern California desert, mountains, and beaches. I have additional photos available on my website, www.vanzandtphoto.com. I won a number of awards for my underwater photography including a grand prize and a first place in the macro division in the Los Angeles Underwater Photo Society in 1998, along with other awards from the LAUPS and the Northern California Underwater Society in 1999 and 2000.
