Roshan Bliss is community organizer, policy advocate, and nonprofit leader who has been living in Denver for 15 years and calls the La Alma neighborhood home. His journey as a photographer began as a form of self-care when, during the Covid-19 pandemic, he created a ritual of getting out of his work-from-home office to watch the sunset every evening. The ritual was his way to remind himself that, despite the overwhelming ugliness and pain in the world, beauty is still the norm—not just in our world, but in the universe. He was enthralled by the details, textures, and shapes of individual clouds during the golden hour, so he started zooming in on them, and in doing so, began cultivating his own semi-abstract style of photographing clouds. As he shared some of his favorite images with friends and family, he was moved to hear how his work helped them connect with light and beauty during dark times. Encouraged by their responses, he committed to sharing his art more widely, leading to the creation of Light+Water Photography.
