My journey as an artist began as a calligrapher in the 1990s, when I demonstrated and sold my calligraphy art at the Renaissance Faire in Novato, California. I spent the next 25 years as a custom picture framer in California's Napa Valley, making other peoples' art look good!

I started experimenting with watercolor after retirement at age 60. I like to juxtapose loose, wet-on-wet backgrounds with sharp-focus subjects, and enjoy using saturated, layered colors. My work is influenced by minimalistic, Asian-inspired forms and techniques. My intention as an artist is to capture the vanishing beauty of the natural world, inviting viewers to pause and reflect on the wonder and fragility of nature through the luminous qualities of watercolor.

I've shown my work at Graton Gallery, Sebastopol Gallery, Sebastopol Center for the Arts, and Occidental Center for the Arts, where my painting “Raven's Journey” won a People’s Choice Award in 2023. I am currently a member artist at Russian River Art Gallery in Guerneville, CA.
