I first fell in love with photography in the days of film. I would set up my darkroom in the kitchen at night, and I would stay up all night developing and printing. It was very exciting.

After a time I began to fall in love with color, not only with the works of photographers like Elliot Porter, but also the works of the impressionist painters, along with Picasso , Matisse and others.

From the beginning my vision was to create pieces that were “jewell” like in their appearance and feel, and over a period of decades, I believe I succeeded, and drew an audience.

With my fine arts background, I tend to think of my camera as my paintbrush and lean towards the fine arts side of photography.

I love capturing everyday life, showing the beauty, and miracle of it all.
I love this earth and all these denizens who inhabit it. I want to capture and create images that illuminate the wonder that it is to be alive, here, now, in the middle of dark space, on this astounding planet that by some miracle, just happens to exist at the precise time and place, as to allow this phenomenal flowering of life to take place. Anywhere on this globe that there is the slightest chance for some life form to exist, it does.

What I care about is not the camera you used, the settings, the light at the time of capture, how much time it took to set up the shot, or what software you used in post production, or how much or how little you manipulated the image. I care little if it is "tack" sharp. True, all those have importance, but the only thing that can hold my interest, ultimately is the results. Does it move me in some fundamental way?
I create images of that which I love, that which captures my imagination, that speaks to my heart, mind and spirit. Sharing them with others of like vision is important to me, for I am part of the human race, and want to share the beauty and wonder I find all around me, from my doorstep to out in the big, wide world.

I, personally am not enamoured with the "cult of the personality" so common in the world of the arts today. I try to "step out of the way," to let the subject speak for itself.
I have the desire to create images that are “jewel” like. Sometimes I succeed. Photography has become my life and my joy. This whole world is a jewel, precious beyond compare and I am a witness to that beauty. If I am blessed enough to help in anyway to preserve it, I will feel privileged.

My wish is that you will find here, images that will enrich your life and environment. Images that were created to bring beauty and harmony into your home or work space.
