Rolanda Lara (1971- ) - is an Anishinabe woman from Sagkeeng First Nation located north of Winnipeg, Canada. Rolanda is a self-taught artist who creates original pieces of visual art that are based upon her cultural background and traditions. Rolanda Lara combines her Ojibway culture with her life experiences to convey the natural beauty of nature and the traditional history and teachings of her people. Rolanda carries the White Eagle Feather from her people and believes that art should come from within a person’s spirit.
