Lee Williams is a freelance artist who takes inspiration from the beauty and history of the area he lives in. Born and raised in Western New York, Lee received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from SUNY at Buffalo in 1983. He is an experienced printer, having worked in the industry for over 35 years. His photography can be seen in local municipal buildings and several area galleries as an exhibiting member of the Buffalo Society of Artists. Mr. Williams is self-taught and takes pride in the details. Lee makes images by looking closely at his subject. An appreciation for light, shadow, and texture are prominent throughout. Currently living in Lockport, NY, with his wife Jennifer and a small collection of rescued dogs and cats. He is involved with the local business community in promoting the rebirth of the city, highlighting the role it has played in the history of the Erie Canal. A large share of his work is inspired by the current restoration of the famous Flight of Five Locks.
