Originally, Les created and presented his art as traditional oil paintings on stretched canvas and specialized art papers. His more current works pioneer and explore emerging new media such as milled metal, Plexiglas, ceramic, and other innovative substrate materials.
Many of Les’ current collections originate as hand-drawn concept sketches or digitally enhanced imagery that progressively evolve through various techniques Les has personally developed and continues to hone. His subject matter includes traditional landscapes, seascapes, and portraitures, and extends to include contemporary impressionistic studies of flowers and trees, urban landscapes, cities, architecture, and abstract studies.
By continually adapting evolving advances in technology, Les has been able to develop updated versions of traditional wall art, various types of consumer products for the fashion, gift, and home deco markets, and commercial products for the interior and exterior building and architectural materials markets.
Presenting his art on natural fiber silk and other types of fabrics led to his creative involvement with international manufacturers of fashion accessories and other consumer and commercial products. Currently, Les continues his ongoing exploration of advanced new media and other progressive methods of presentation, that combine his highly imaginative visions with state-of-the-art methods of creation, and the latest advances in technology. His presentations on full-sized digital outdoor billboards, large digital screens, and progressively morphing color and imagery have evolved and now include innovative new presentation concepts such as the MAYERS | CONTEMPORARY virtual art museum, and other advanced immersive interactive art experiences.
