I was born, raised and still live in Portland Oregon in the United States. From about the age of five I have been drawing and engaged in one artistic medium or another. Along with this interest in art, was and still is an equally intense fascination with natural history subjects ranging from reptiles, to astronomy to ancient cultures and many subjects in between. Soon I was using art to visually explore these diverse realms of study. Thanks to a great high school art teacher helping me to establish a solid foundation in artistic media and principles, I was eventually able to attend a small but excellent commercial art school. In my early twenties my brother and my best friend introduced me to photography and I got my first real camera. Photography however took a backseat to my painting and science illustration till 1994 when I signed with a major stock photography agency. Through them my work has been and still is published in many forms world- wide. Clients have included The National Science Foundation, The National Geographic Society, and NASA. Now for the first time I’m making some these images available through online galleries such as this. I hope you enjoy viewing these images as much as I enjoyed creating them.
Thanks
