Born in Prague, Jarmila is a graduate of the Fine and Applied Arts in the Czech Republic and later pursued independent studies in Fine Arts at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. Her transition from a professional ballet dancer to a visual artist in Canada has been a natural progression, infusing her artworks with deeply personal insights and dramatic nuances, influenced by the realms of music, dance, and cinema.
Her work has been showcased in exhibitions in Canada, the USA, Europe, and South America. Jarmila currently resides and continues to create in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
