Painting has been at the center of my life for as long as I can remember. It has always been my way of expression and healing, a constant passion I carry.
As the son of an immigrant family, my life story is interwoven with migrations and family roots, as I have moved between countries and cultures.
I was born in Moscow, but at age five, we immigrated to the state of Israel. There, I grew up and came of age, absorbing its landscapes and ways of life. Yet at 39 years old, married with two children, we decided to migrate again—this time to Portugal, my new home today.
In my artwork, I often draw inspiration from my personal history. I work with family photographs and slides, using these personal archives as anchors to explore themes of heritage and memory. Through my evocative paintings, I delve into the rich tapestry of experiences and emotions that define our shared human experience.
