From the artist:"Capturing the beauty of divine creations with my lens. An instance frozen to frame the gift of simple thins all around us. A poem converted into an image that serves to remind your soul of purity, life, and beauty. The perfect representation of how precious and fragile life is. This collection is like a meditation through the forest, where only the purest love, the most beautiful light, and the most amazing colors surround your path." Artist, Bivi Franco, captures the beauty of the simple things, this time through her camera lens. Every flower and every detail is a metaphor for love, hope, and divine insight. She grew up in Colombia, South America and relocated to Atlanta in the 1990’s after marrying her husband. Once she settled in Atlanta, Bivi decided to pursue her passion for art and design and graduated at the top of her class, Magna Cum Laude, with a degree in Fashion Design from AIU. She continued her education for several years afterward in classical art and drawing, as well as photography and illustration. During this same time, she received several certifications in Arts in Health. Bivi also began to explore how art could help patients in hospitals to improve their quality of life. In 2010, two of her close friends were diagnosed with cancer and it claimed the life of her aunt. In an instant, these events transformed her passion for art into a calling. She wholeheartedly felt that this was her “pay it forward” moment, and she decided that she wanted to use art to provide love, hope, and encouragement to cancer patients. This led her to found the nonprofit organization, Feel Beautiful Today. In 2015, Bivi’s mother was also diagnosed with cancer, and this motivated her even more to grow the organization and reach more patients. As an artist herself, Bivi designs and creates programs that volunteers deliver to hospitals and cancer treatment centers at no cost to the patients. The patients are directly served while in treatment at infusion rooms, radiation centers, in-patient and out-patient areas, or in their transition to survivorship. It is FBT’s goal to complement the efforts of the medical staffs and support the complex combination of a person’s physical, mental, and emotional experiences.
