Born in New York City in 1984, Aryea Flohr studied Fine Art at the New York University. His paintings cover a wide and versatile range of techniques in oils, acrylics, watercolours, ink, pencil and pastels, and are held in private collections around the world.
His work has moved toward landscaping in the past 10 years. Working in New York, Aryea dropped the notion that nature was perfect and started to study the form and color of his surroundings. He was painting the industrial scape of NYC for many years, but landscaping has very much settled into his bones and after so many labored abstract works, he thinks he has finally found his direction in oil painting.
Aryea Flohr is quickly gaining a reputation for his dynamic, energy filled fine art. His bold colours and powerful compositions come together to produce stunning artwork that is increasingly sought after.
His paintings and prints are in public and private collections across the country. He makes paintings with watercolour or acrylic paint on paper and canvas. His work is reminiscent of naive art and draws inspiration from everyday life. Aryea Flohr has created his own personal vocabulary of images which he uses as reoccurring themes in different arrangements in his work.
