This series draws inspiration from the changing moods of the coast, examining the relationship between light, water, and atmosphere and the interplay with my own emotional landscape.
I keep coming back to the ocean for solace and a place of belonging. The rhythmic waves and whispers of the coast offer a kind of wordless reassurance, a gentle return to myself. I find my mind and my spirit settling as if the coastline itself promises both sanctuary and renewal.
Each visit provides a different experience of the coast. The ever-changing light creates dynamic spaces where luminosity and nuances offer shifting perspectives and reveals evolving viewpoints.
I aim to capture not just the appearance but also the inherent character of these landscapes, evoking their subtle atmosphere and sense of peace. Using long exposures technique and intentional camera movement, I seek to reflect the feeling of being near water, inviting viewers to experience their own inner landscape.
Minimalism is central to my approach. I strive to distil the essence of each place. The emphasis is on offering a visual respite where stillness and presence are foregrounded.
For me, minimalism is not about emptiness but rather fullness of presence, possibility and meaning. Leaving room for the viewer to bring their own interpretations and emotions to each piece. I want my photographs to serve as reminders to slow down and appreciate the value of one’s own time, perhaps be in touch with their own inner forecast.
Each piece is intended to hold space where waves and whispers linger long after the tide recedes.
