Candid and Street Portraits
Portraits and street photography. There’s no posing or set dressing. Everything is done on the fly. You don’t even need a dedicated model, you can take pictures of strangers in the street.
Photographers don’t have to photograph strangers to take a candid portrait. But candid portrait photography doesn’t involve direction from the photographer. Street photographers often take candid portraits of the people they meet. There’s usually no setup.
The light, environment, and other factors create a spontaneous photoshoot. Some photographers use a mix of posing and prompts to encourage candid moments.
They regularly go to great lengths when taking photos and thrive when they capture their own unique vision. As visionaries, they often only start shooting when they have a clear image of the final photo in their heads. This results in a smoother execution, but they also regularly shoot on their own as they have to be in control of the scene. They aren't afraid to break the rules or get into trouble when shooting, so long as they capture their vision. This is the part that makes an extraordinary exciting result that’s reflected in the quality of their photos.
