Fanciful Macro Photography

Closet gear head (vehicle photographer and freelance magazine content producer), retired biology professor, self taught photographer and photo editor (Lightroom and Photoshop).

After retiring from my Biology Professor position in Victoria-by-the-Sea Prince Edward Island, I decided to take some of my research images and colourize the grey-scale black and white images. The goal was to provide abstract context to plant parts that are mere microns in size and invisible to the human eye until the mature entity opens in the spring or summer.

At the same time, I started noting interesting patterns in the various sea shells that wash up on the beaches in and around Victoria-by-the-Sea. I had dabbled in "ultra macro" photography with insects and plant life, so I thought using see shells, but modifying them was interesting.

These are the musings of "Fanciful Macro Photography."
