Creating images in 'Cape Breton Highlands National Park' is an absolute blessing. This park offers the opportunity to work with such a variety of stunning landscapes in all kinds of conditions due to the intense weather systems that it so often faces. Photography came into my life in 2009 and I haven’t been able to put down a camera since then. I reside in Cheticamp, Cape Breton and I strive to create timeless images through long exposure photography.
Living an active lifestyle that is closely connected to nature has always been important to me. As a surfer I have spent a lot of time in the ocean and I keep paddling back out there. A favorite quote of mine is "The cure for anything is salt water. Sweat, tears or the sea." by Isak Dinesen. The ocean is truly an incredible element and I gravitate towards documenting its nature as I perceive it and as it presents itself in that given moment. I hope that my images reflect the ever changing essence of the ocean and can reach some place in your heart and mind.
This gallery mostly contains photographic work of Cape Breton Island. A lot of my time is spent hiking in the forest and walking along the shore, always keeping an eye on something unique to create a new image with. In order to round this gallery off a little, I have included a few moments from my travels to places like New Zealand, Iceland, Austria and the United States.
