Frank Wilson
Member of the International Guild Of Realism. Inducted into the Grumbacher Artist Hall Of Fame Frank Wilson is a Northern California painter and nature photographer whose work transforms wilderness into heirloom art. With a masterful eye for light and atmosphere, he captures the quiet grandeur of forests, mountain meadows, and remote landscapes where time seems to slow. Each piece reflects a lifetime of immersion in the natural world — from the rugged Sierra Nevada to the storied woodlands of Vermont and the Appalachian East. Collectors value Wilson’s work for its extraordinary realism, emotional depth, and the sense of calm it brings into a space. His paintings and photographs are crafted with archival precision and a deep respect for the land, offering viewers not just an image, but an experience — a moment of stillness, memory, and connection to the wild. Frank Wilson’s art invites you to bring the serenity of nature into your home or collection, where it continues to inspire long after the first glance ARTIST STATEMENT The beauty, power and majesty of God's creation serve as the cornerstone for my artistic and photographic endeavors. Each sunrise, each delicate flower, and every towering mountain speaks of His magnificent and intricate design. Capturing these moments with brush or through my lens allows me to reflect on the profound artistry of the Creator Himself. It is within the natural world that I find endless inspiration, a source of awe that fuels my creativity and drives me to honor His works in my own creations. Every click of the shutter, every stroke of the brush, is a humble tribute to the divine craftsmanship and exquisite artistry that is ever-present in nature's splendor.
SUR CETTE OEUVRE: GOLD POND
"GOLD POND" is just down our road a bit. Formed around 1875 when the Spring Valley Mining Company expanded their operations and started washing away this hill with water cannons called monitors. It is estimated that over $15,000,000 dollars in gold was recovered in this district, mostly from the Spring Valley Mine. Thats when gold was only $21.25 an ounce compared to todays value of $1,657.00 an ounce! That value of 15 million would be worth over 7,798 times as much in todays market! An estimated 400 large, gem grade diamonds were also found by washing away the hills. Hydraulic mining was banned by federal law in 1884 because of the terrible damage it did to streams and rivers filling them with silt and killing off the salmon industry. Exposure taken with my Nikon D5300 20mm lens f 7.1 @ 1/400 sec ISO 200
