Charles Herchert
ARTIST REFLECTION As a Landscape Photographer, I shoot each photo in its raw form, that capture the essence of nature, forging a lasting impression of a world alive with nostalgic splendor, transforming homes and businesses with striking masterpieces, capturing the world at its most breathtaking, where nature meets timeless artistry. Moments of wilderness preserved forever, turning landscapes into legacy. ARTIST PERSONAL NARRATIVE My name is Charles Herchert I was born in the Royal Prussian Kingdom of East Germany, grew up in Montreal, Canada where art images surrounded me from an early age and has been a pivotal part of my identity. Photography has long been my passion, capturing nature that enabled me to create the essence of our world, forging a lasting impression alive with nostalgic splendor, as a recognizable work of art. PROFESSIONAL REVIEW Charles Herchert’s photography, creates an atmosphere that is colorful with striking visuals, evoking the ever presence of nature. The style of his images transcends the reputation of the artist work, that enhances the nostalgic splendor of our planet, where timeless beauty is captured in a nostalgic setting. Charles Herchert's landscape images have been shown at the Hilton Hotel gallery and other prestigious North American art exhibits. CHASING LIGHT ACROSS AMERICA One of my adventures led me to the rugged Pacific Coast. Standing on the windswept cliffs above the crashing surf, I waited as the setting sun painted the sky with shades of gold and orange, and crimson. As waves pounded the rocky shoreline below, I realized that photography was more than capturing an image - it was preserving a fleeting moment that would never exist in quit the same way. My travels continued north to the wild coastlines of Alaska. There towering mountains rose from icy waters, and glaciers shimmered beneath the midnight sun. I spend hours exploring remote shorelines, often sharing the landscape with bald eagles, sea otters, and whales. Every photograph told a story of wilderness untouched by time. In the American Southwest, I discovered a completely different kind of beauty. The deserts of Arizona and Nevada revealed vast horizons, colorful sandstone formations, and dramatic skies. Before dawn, I hiked through canyons and across desert trails, eager to catch the first rays of sunlight illuminating ancient rock formations. The silent of the desert was both humbling and inspiring. The Rocky Mountains provided some of my most memorable experiences. I watched sunrise light up snow covered peaks, reflecting in crystal-clear alpine lakes. Many mornings began long before daylight, climbing trails in the dark with my camera gear in tow. The reward was always worth the effort when the mountains glowed with the first light of day. Closer to home, I found beauty in America's heartland. Rolling hills, winding rivers, historic towns, and quiet country roads offered endless opportunities for photography. I found out that spectacular images are not limited to famous destinations. Sometimes the most meaningful photographs are found in familiar places where few others stop to look. Along the Golf Coast, I photographed lighthouses, fishing harbors and endless stretches of beach. Storm clouds often created dramatic skies, transforming ordinary scenes into extraordinary works of nature. Patients became one of my greatest tools as a photographer, showing me to wait for the perfect combination of light, weather and timing. Over the years, landscape photography has giving me far more that a collection of images. It has introduced me to remarkable people, unforgettable places, and experience that continue to shape my prospective. Every road traveled, every sunrise witnessed, and every shutter click has deepened my appreciation for the beauty that exists across America. As I look through my photographs, I see more than landscapes. I see memories of adventure, moments of wonder, and the stories behind each journey. The pursuit of great light and beautiful scenery continues to inspire me, and with every new destination, another chapter of the adventure begins.
SUR CETTE OEUVRE: NATURES MASTERPIECE - SCRIPTURE
The Mojave Desert is a hot place, where the sun boils the earth face, the beauty from the sunset glow, drives the sands to and sends the wind to blow. Then the rays of twilight slant across the land and bring the chill of nightfall to the blazing sand. Death Valley, California 10/2017
