William R. Stanek

William R. Stanek is a fine art photographer, mixed-media painter, and visual storyteller whose work is defined by one enduring principle: light as truth. Across photography, abstraction, and illustrated landscape works, he creates art that is atmospheric, emotionally resonant, and designed to be lived with over time.

Working through 360 Studios, the long-standing creative partnership he shares with his wife and collaborator Hui Cha (HC) Stanek, William develops cohesive bodies of work shaped by patience, structure, and a deep commitment to authorship. Each collection is built with intention—through studied light, refined composition, disciplined materials, and a clear emotional point of view.

Collectors often arrive through one doorway and remain for another. Some first discover William through his photography: luminous coastlines, waterfalls, skies, black-and-white studies, and landscapes shaped by sustained attention to atmosphere and natural light. Others are drawn first to the paintings and illustrated works, where light becomes texture, memory, structure, and emotional force.

Major Bodies of Work

Fusion — A major abstract and mixed-media practice exploring glow, fracture, restraint, motion, and renewal. These works are built through layered pigment, translucence, and controlled disruption, and are designed to shift with the light of the room and reward repeated viewing.

And We Stayed In — An intimate series of interiors, terraces, windows, chairs, and quiet places where presence lingers through absence. These works read like remembered spaces—narrative, cinematic, and emotionally exact.

Photography Collections — Sunscapes, wildscapes, seascapes, waterfalls, black-and-white studies, and global landscapes created through sustained fieldwork and a disciplined study of natural light. Each image is composed to feel grounded, luminous, and lasting.

National Park Illustrations — Monumental landscape works shaped through metallic linework, sculpted light, and cinematic form. These pieces do not simply document place; they distill it, turning cliffs, arches, waterfalls, and valleys into enduring visual emblems of awe and scale.

Why Collectors Connect

Collectors are drawn to William’s work because it offers more than image alone. The photography holds atmosphere and attention. The paintings hold presence. Across both, the work reveals itself slowly, shifts with the light, and remains emotionally alive in the room.

Some collectors build around the immersive force of Fusion. Others return to the quiet intimacy of And We Stayed In. Others begin with the photography or the national park works and expand into the broader body of art. What unites all of it is authorship, clarity of vision, and a lasting relationship to light.
