This is a beautiful romantic winter landscape scene, people skating on a frozen lake, while others are using the frozen lake to transport people and goods; while a flock of birds enjoy a flight in the frigid winter sky. In the center of the image is a grouping of buildings and cottages surrounded with small and large trees; and in the foreground as well as in the background of the image we can see a large abundance of trees, that have shed there leaves. In the far distance we can see more people as well as a horse pulling a wagon along the snow covered road, accented with reddish-brown trees behind them, with homes to the right of them.
