Benjamin is a visual expressionist through the medium of Fine Art Photography.
Born in Armenia and growing up in Los Angeles, California, he developed a love for the understanding of human nature and human behavior. It is his love for people that has caused him to delve into the lives of others, both in forming relationships and through the visual medium. In his studies in human behavior at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), he developed a desire to better understand and capture the essence of personhood, life and creation in all its glory. Coupled by his love for photography, he attempts to engage in the poetic expression of life and creation through the lense of Fine Art Photography.
Benjamin's photographic and visual expressionism seeks to capture the majestic design of a world that is more and more believed to be in chaos. His style can be summarized from the poetic truths of Robert Frost in “The Road Not Taken”, namely that his visual work seeks to shed off the distractions of life in order to bring clarity to the experiences that shape our lives.

ABOUT THIS ARTWORK: WEDDING CLOTHES
A wedding celebration is a time to rejoice. It brings a new path in life for the newlywed couple. It brings a fullness of joy in holy matrimony. And it leads to pleasures forevermore. Only the finest is fitting for such a joyous celebration including the clothes that are worn for the occasion. This piece is titled "Wedding Clothes" and it is a focused contemporary ode to the 18th and 19th century artists depictions of the Great Wedding Banquet.
The original image was taken during a wedding celebration. As the festivities were unfolding, I had the rare opportunity to capture David sitting in a corner, deep in thoughts, waiting patiently for his turn to come to carry out his role. He was dressed in his wedding clothes and felt a sense of belonging and determination for the role that he was called to play in this great banquet. That sense of readiness and determination as explored in the piece was all the inspiration that was needed to transform the original image into the final composition.
The work was inspired by and is a contemporary twist of the parable of a king who sent his servants to invite as many guests as they could find to come to his sons wedding. The invitation was given to many and the doors of the kings banquet were wide open. People of all backgrounds were invited, both good and bad. As all of the guests had arrived and were ready to partake in the great wedding feast, the king noticed that one of the guests was not wearing the proper wedding garments and the consequences were dire for this guest.
The artwork explores the symbolic meanings of the parable, themes such as the newness of self, of grace and of calling. It attempts to capture the sense of readiness to receive the invitation when called and to properly put on the new self, for a new role, on a new day that will resound in all of eternity.
As David was eagerly ready and waiting to carry out his role in the wedding, the image speaks to the readiness that we should all have in our hearts to heed the calling when the invitation is given. You are invited.
