Benjamin is a visual expressionist through the medium of Fine Art Photography.
Born in Armenia and growing up in Los Angeles, California, he developed a love for the understanding of human nature and human behavior. It is his love for people that has caused him to delve into the lives of others, both in forming relationships and through the visual medium. In his studies in human behavior at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), he developed a desire to better understand and capture the essence of personhood, life and creation in all its glory. Coupled by his love for photography, he attempts to engage in the poetic expression of life and creation through the lense of Fine Art Photography.
Benjamin's photographic and visual expressionism seeks to capture the majestic design of a world that is more and more believed to be in chaos. His style can be summarized from the poetic truths of Robert Frost in “The Road Not Taken”, namely that his visual work seeks to shed off the distractions of life in order to bring clarity to the experiences that shape our lives.

ABOUT THIS ARTWORK: TRINITY
One of the greatest quests for humanity and philosophy has been the search for unity in diversity. It is engraved on our currency, "e pluribus unum" (out of many, one). We seek it in our institutions of higher learning and coined the term "university" (unity in diversity). This piece is the latest addition to the fine art collection and it too seeks to explore the oneness out of the community of many. I have titled it "Trinity".
The inspiration behind the work came from the marvel of the oneness and community of the tree as a whole while it grows more complex in the diversity and beauty of its three branches. C.S. Lewis once described that with every added layer of a dimension in this finite world we observe more and more complexity. In the first dimension we see lines; in the second dimension, planes and shapes; and as we add a third dimension to the story we have complex objects and creations. Viewing it from the perspective of the seed we cannot see the complexity of the tree. It is no wonder therefore than that humanity has always sought to find oneness or unity from the complexity of the many. It is where we get the word "quintessence", the single essence that unites all the others.
It is only fitting then, that were we see unity and diversity in the effect of creation, that there would be unity and diversity in the first cause. If in only three dimensions we can see such complexity in that which is finite and dependent, how much more complexity can we imaging in adding a multitude of dimensions to that which is not finite nor dependent. Are we seeing it only from the perspective of the seed, or can we imagine the complexity of the first cause where we have, as philosophers have said, "unity and diversity in the community of the Trinity".
There is a reason why the quest for unity in diversity is innate in our very essence, because it describes the very nature of He who planted the seed. For He is the essence that unites all others.
